Privacy policy

Short version: we keep almost nothing, and we never sell or share it. Last updated 2026-10-29.

What we process while you play

  • Your nickname and emoji, plus the answers, votes and drawings you send during a game. These live only in our server's memory while the room is open and are gone when the room closes. We do not store them.
  • A random session token kept in your browser so you can rejoin the same room after a refresh. We only store a scrambled version of it, also only while the room exists.

What we keep

  • Anonymous daily counters, such as how many rooms were created, how many games were finished and which country visits came from (taken from our network provider's country header). These are totals only, never linked to a person. We keep them for up to 400 days.
  • Crash reports from the website and the TV app: an error message and technical details, with room codes removed. We keep them for 14 days to fix bugs.
  • Our hosting keeps short technical logs for security, rotated automatically.

Google Analytics

The website and the web game screens use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which games people play. It records things like pages viewed, the type of device and browser, an approximate location (city or region) and game events such as "game started" with the game's name and the number of players. It never receives nicknames, answers, drawings or room codes. Google Analytics sets first party cookies to recognise a returning browser.

  • In the EU, UK and Switzerland we ask first, and nothing is stored on your device unless you choose Allow.
  • Advertising features and ad personalisation are switched off.
  • Data is kept for 14 months in Google Analytics, then deleted.
  • Google processes this data as our service provider. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

What we never do

  • No accounts, emails or passwords.
  • No advertising or tracking pixels.
  • Apart from Google Analytics (above), no cookies. The site uses your browser's local storage for things like your last nickname, sound setting and your analytics choice.
  • No selling or sharing of data.

Children

Party Bo is designed as a family friendly game for groups. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, and nicknames are filtered for offensive words. Hosts can remove players from a room.

Your choices

You can play with any nickname you like. Use the button above to turn analytics on or off for this device, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. Clearing your browser storage removes everything Party Bo saved on your device.
